I have vision issues (AMD) and am looking to replace my current TV which is an 8-10 year old 43" Samsung. I am hoping for a crisper picture which I imagine the newer sets have. I sit 6 feet away so want to stick with 43" size. The room is quite bright and I understand that an LCD (LED) would be better than OLED as their screens are more resistant to glare. No preference on brand.

An experience or suggestions would be most helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Ted, I'm sorry that you're having vision issues. Here's maybe a couple of suggestions:

This is an UK website but may provide some guidance of what your can find in your locality:
Best Television For Macular Degeneration (https://www.reliant.co.uk/blog/best-television-for-macular-degeneration/#:~:text=TCL%2098P745K%20LED%20Smart%20TV&text=This%20incredible%20voice%20control%20platfor m,oriented%20smart%20TV%20user%20interfaces.)

If you go to a big box store that has several models to view, ask them if they have the TV's picture turned up brighter than what would be for normal viewing.

I then thought of the Apple Vision Pro headset but you'd need to be part f the Apple ecosphere and its quite spendy.

But then I discovered this. Vision Buddy (https://visionbuddy.com). Sort of like the Apple Vision Pro but it plugs into your your video source via HDMI. :edit: looks like newer models are wireless with optional link hardware. Still spendy but designed specifically for your needs.

Good luck!

I love our LG OLED TV. Clarity and contrast are just amazing. But I can confirm that the OLED brightness limitations may be a challenge in a brightly lit room. It's much better than our old rear projection but the glare from windows can still be a problem and I dim the lights for the best viewing of dark content.
