Never thought I'd see the day when I was excited to root for the federal government!

I wasn't sure I'd see the day when Ed_Severson posted again. Whoa! Good to see you, for whatever reason.
There are so many straight lines here. "There is no threat to the public." Well no, anyone can drive faster but hey, I'm above that. Or maybe it's Letterman they are after?

Something bigger has to be going on here for the Feds to be involved. IP issues are typically litigated civil not federal. And I can't imagine what IP issue would rise to the level that the FBI got involved. There must be more to the story here but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Which may be months. Or never.
I agree this isn’t about shock settings.

Mainly just wanted to see if this news registered here. As a somewhat-recently-divorced-from-RLL individual, it definitely caught my attention and made for a pretty fun afternoon.
In the long run, I think this is going to be much ado about nothing -- there is a damper technician at the heart of this that Andretti parted ways with at the end of 2022 and RLL hired a couple weeks later. We overlapped for a season, and I never saw or heard anything untoward or had any reason to believe he possessed anything he wasn't entitled to. That doesn't mean nothing happened, but this isn't going to turn into a major scandal, it's just going to make one or two individuals radioactive and it's gonna result in Michael and Bob liking each other less.
Normally I would think that an IP issue would be a civil matter but it occurs to me that if there if he accessed computer systems without authorization and took the data then that could involve the FBI.
RLL cars finished 1-2 at yesterday's IMSA event at Indy. Maybe the FBI should drop by more often. ;)
