Paul Mumford, winner of the Laguna Seca round of the SPEED World Challenge GT championship was killed Wednesday afternoon in a plane crash outside Chino, Calif.

It was just the second World Challenge race of Paul's career... in the first at Road America, he finished third.
I was privileged to flag both events he raced and was looking forward to him being a challenger for the championship next year.
Now, I'll be haunted by the knowledge that I witnessed a great driver do great things before he left us too soon.
RIP Paul. You'll be missed.
