I was just relaxing tonight, flipping around the TV, and found Grease on one of the movie channels. I started thinking about some of the musicals I've seen in my life, from Sound of Music to Fiddler on the Roof, and there are parts of each that I really like. Just wondering if any of you have a favorite Musical??

I haven't seen many, just a few more than I wanted to see.

Jesus Christ Superstar was pretty good until about halfway through when my buzz wore off.

West Side Story had two gangs of apparently gay fellers. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

In high school I took a Colombian exchange student to see Camelot. I couldn't understand her or the damn movie.

What about "Tommy" by the Who?...not a big fan, actually like Townshend's solo work better than the group but it's definetly better than some drippy 50-60's montage of song and dance.

Would "Spinal Tap" qualify as a musical?

I LOVE that episode!!! :)

I like "Oklahoma". I haven't seen a lot of musicals, but my high-school did an awesome version of "Oklahoma". I think we're doing "Joseph and the technicolor dreamcoat" this year. I'll probably be in the orchestra again. I liked it a lot last year.

The pre code WB Busby Berkley stuff. "Lullaby of Broadway" from Gold Diggers of 1935 is as good of 15 minutes of film as you'll find. Acres of scantily dressed nubile young dancers in suggestive poses.

Ummm... yeah. Musicals are right up my alley. Rabbit of Seville and What's Opera, Doc? are as close as my redneck carcass will come to a musical.

Once More With Feeling (Buffy musical ep) Great dialogue, great natural singing, and a few other attractions.

I used to be a big musical fan/performer, and kinda OD'd on the whole thing... I still like to perform the good tunes, though.
