"Tree? I am no tree! I am an Ent."
You undorkified loser.
How to get Thrown Out of Return of the King, or, What Not To Do at a LotR Movie
1. Stand up halfway through the movie and yell loudly, "Wait... where the hell is Harry Potter?"
2. Block the entrance to the theater while screaming: "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!" After the movie, say "Lucas could have done it better."
3. Play a drinking game where you have to take a sip every time someone says: "The Ring."
4. Point and laugh whenever someone dies.
5. Ask everyone around you if they think Gandalf went to Hogwarts.
6. Finish off every one of Elrond's lines with "Mr. Anderson."
7. When Aragorn is crowned king, stand up and at the top of your lungs sing, "And I did it.... MY way...!"
8. Talk like Gollum all through the movie. At the end, bite off someone's finger and fall down the stairs.
9. Dress up as old ladies and reenact "The Battle of Helms Deep" Monty Python style.
10. When Denethor lights the fire, shout "Barbecue!"
11. In TTT when the Ents decide to march to war, stand up and shout "RUN FOREST, RUN!"
12. Every time someone kills an Orc, yell: "That's what I'm Tolkien about!" See how long it takes before you get kicked out of the theatre.
13. During a wide shot of a battle, inquire, "Where's Waldo?"
14. Talk loudly about how you heard that there is a single frame of a nude Elf hidden somewhere in the movie.
15. Start an Orc sing-a-long.
16. Come to the premiere dressed as Frankenfurter and wander around looking terribly confused.
17. When they go in the paths of the dead, wait for tense moment and shout, "I see dead people!"
18. Imitate what you think a conversation between Gollum, Dobby and Yoda would be like.
19. Release a jar of daddy-long-legs into the theater during the Shelob scene.
20. Wonder out loud if Aragorn is going to run for governor of California.
21. When Shelob comes on, exclaim, "Man! Charlotte's really let herself go!"

I grew up reading 'the' trilogy. Once a year I'd give them spin. That lead me to the playing of D&D. I was about 13 when D&D hit big. Still have my dice ("check out my new 20 sided guys!") and my little lead figures I'd spend hours meticulously painting.
My wife and daughter have a new found love of all things LotR. The anticipation for the final installment is agonizing for us all.
I AM A DORK, YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!!!!!!!!!

I've never been a big LOTR fan, but my 11 year old is really into this. For Christmas I got him a replica of the ring, complete with maps.
My sister just got me the Twin Towers deluxe DVD set for my 30th birthday. I've never seen any of them, but I did read The Hobbit when I was a kid. After I get enough free time to watch it, I'll let you know if I'm a dork or not. :)

I've just never been into the fantasy genre. I watch something like that and I start laughing at how boring and weird it is. I'm more into a true story or some historical fiction. Besides it's kind of hard to get girls to go see a LOTR and still take you seriously.:D

I enjoy going to football games, watching Champcar & F1 & WRC, surfing the Net, reading (novels, sci fi, theology, design, bio, history, culture), dancing, cooking, going out to fancy restaurants, gardening, shopping, singing and playing music semi-professionally, watching all kinds of TV and movies (from Nova to American Pie to Monster Garage to Angel to West Wing to Hockey Night in Canada to Charlie Rose to Bond movies to Designer Guys to Frontiers of Construction to Simpsons), hanging out with friends...

Okay. It was good. Very good. Excellent cinematography, music, battle sequences, human interest.
Perhaps I will change my tune after seeing it a couple more times, but "very good" is the best review I can give it. I hyped it up too much to myself, and was a tad disappointed. I wanted some things that are in the books that there was just no time for in the movie.
But it was very good.

I agree. I enjoyed TTT so much that I expected even more from RoTK. It seemed a little draggy toward the end, and there were things left out in the theatrical release that I hope they will add in the director's cut on DVD. Still, I enjoyed it very much.

OK - I broke down and went to see "Lord of the Dance" tonite, and It was Great!!!!
I had the M&M Special which is you get a dollar off M&M,s if you buy a Large Popcorn, and a Large Soda, total $12.00 and they'll help carry the stuff to your seat.
Frodo & Sam did come close to Kissing a couple Times, and Frodo did kiss Sam on the forehead at the end of the movie. And longing glances were given an interminable amount of screen time between Frodo & Sam. Not sure but I swear Frodo batted his eyes for a second there. Sam Comforted Frodo at least 4 times during the movie.
Of Course Sam got married right soon as they got back from the adventure, and Frodo left town in heavy disappointment. Of course the bride was a beard! And his kids have really big hairy feet, I'm guessing their Greek!
Those Male Hobbits sure like to cuddle though! Even the other two. They cry a lot too!
Even the Archer Guy & The Dwarf were smitten for a minute or two.I assume the Dwarf braids the Archers hair.
Gandolph was the most heterosexual character, and he's actually Gay!
What the Hell was all the whispering about in the middle of the movie?
My Girlfriend had to poke me to prevent me from nodding off! It was like 20 minutes of whispering!
I seem to remember a Battle Scene! And they must not have had building codes back then because whole sections of the castle would collapse when a rock hit it!
And what's with that King trying to burn his "not dead" son on the funeral pier... What a Drama Queen... Liked the way he died though, gave the dive a 9 !
Visually beautiful movie though, a pyromaniacs delight!
Just don't go see it at night if you got up at 5:30 AM that morning!
I'm typing this while listening to Kelly Osbourne sing "Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas" in a key that no musical instrument can duplicate, so forgive my review!
But that did remind me that tommorow is December 24, and I've got to start Christmas Shopping. Guess it's Gift Certificates again this year!

Wanted to gouge out that kid's big stupid blue eyes in every one of the (what seemed like 50) scenes where he looked beaten and exhausted from carrying that stupid ring... yeah we ****ing get it dude! We all saw the first 20 hours of the first two movies! :D
The doods in Gondor were all dicks as far as I can tell. Why should I care if they get overrun by a gaGillion Cam-sounding Orcs? Don't say because they're "men"... **** "men"
WTF does Liv Tyler get top billing? She sucks.
The ending sucked!

Not bad eventhough I'm not much of a fantasy/fiction guy. The cinematography is pretty good, the creatures are slick, and the battle scenes are well done. All in all I found it dark and brooding, and a bit too long. My 13 year old nephew really enjoyed it, so I guess that's all that mattered.
