Indianapolis, IN (December 2, 2003) Stefan Johansson announced today that he is no longer associated with the Champ Car team which raced under the name American Spirit Team Johansson in the 2003 Bridgestone Presents the Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford. “As of November 18, 2003, I have resigned as a director of the team. Circumstances necessitated my departure from the company. I want to express my gratitude to the entire team for an incredibly satisfying and exciting year in racing, and I look forward to new and different challenges,” said Johansson.

So the team is still intact, just without SJ. So who's minding the store I wonder. This just keeps getting weirder and weirder.

I don't get it. Wasn't ATSJ SJ's creation? After one year he's done? Somewhat strange they make this announcment without further details on the team, such as who is the director now.
