Holy Crap! Do You Have Connections? [Archive]

As the season nears I want some honest information about the users of this forum. We're all CART fans because we're here, so all our opinions should be respected.

But what I want to know is who among us has direct connections with a CART team? That way, if you're being honest now, you give certain credibility weight to certain posts when these 'scoops' pop up in a world of quick, internet mis-information.

So...
If you have a direct link, lets hear about it.

For me, I've got an 'in' at both Rahal and American Spirit that I can trust for us throughout the season.

I'm just a fan, but that being said, I use alot of email to ask questions to teams and CART in general.

If I do that, you will know, and I usually post direct responses from whomever I wrote to in the first place.

I used to see a guy twoce a year who used to work on the personal car of a guy who used to work at Rahal's shop.

But I don't think that counts.

None to speak of anymore, really the only connections I had were 2nd or 3rd hand. The one source has left the team the other was a sponsor and has moved to another racing series.

As with G, mine left for the "Crapwagon League", and I no longer have any interest with that deal, at all.

Besides having a daughter who works for him (not too hard to do considering how many companies he owns), Captain Liverspots and I share a long time mutual friend, but even that "friend" has no time for the "Crapwagon League", so I guess I have none.

Very well, but next time you use those 'connections' to get some free passes to Cheetahs On The River to attend the, ahem, 'Windsor Ballet', please don't have them mailed to my house by mistake again...;)

I've worked most of my life in motorsports, therefore have lots of connections. While most of my very close connections are in the ladder system, I do have a few in CART itself.

I knew some people from my hometown in Indiana who owned a USAC stock car that was driven for a time by Roger McCluskey, who was born in 1930 in Tucson, Arizona, as was my dad, whose sister, my aunt, once took the same flight from Phoenix to Indy as Tom Sneva. Other than that, just a fan.
