garage door openers

So, I'm in the market for a garage door opener. In my last house I installed the middle of the road Sears chain drive model and it worked fine for 12 years or so until I moved. My question is, should I stick with the chain drive or is a screw drive better? Does anyone have any good or bad experiences with these things?

I had Chain drive and switched to screw drive when I thought it was FUBAR. It turns out the problem was the spring above the door. The only real difference between the two that I notice is that the screw drive is quieter.

The belt drives are also much quieter, I think the real decisin is how much noise you want to deal with. If there is nothing above the garage, noise probably isn't a factor. Stick with a higher end unit though with enough HP, nothing like gettin' one of them things in there to have it crap out 6 months later, or take like 2 minutes to open the door
