Rubens Barrichello will be a Ferrari driver for another two years, the team announced on Wednesday at their annual Madonna di Campiglio event.
The Brazilian, who joined Ferrari in 2000 from Stewart, has agreed to a two-year extension that will see him remain at Ferrari until the end of 2006. Barrichello’s new deal means that the Scuderia’s driver line-up will remain unchanged until 2007 as Michael Schumacher extended his long-term contract last year already.
A statement from the team said: “Ferrari announces it has extended its agreement with the driver Rubens Barrichello to cover the 2005 and 2006 racing seasons.”
