That Pimpski car is possibly the WORST incarnation, or saddest excuse for an OW car that I have seen, possibly EVER...
Target car aint so bad, but they got nuthin' on the LOLAs that OWRS got. Cant wait to see 'em, along with the new line-up in LB in a few weeks.

How can you look sideways to see who is alongside? In a series where they have contrived to have lap after lap of side by side action, I would think it essential for the driver to be able to see sideways.
On the otherhand, realizing you are side by side with Sarah might be so scary, that the drivers would rather not know.

seriously though, I don't know anything about the car, but the nose is pretty thin I think. I don't think there's enough area on the top surface of that nose to accumulate enough down-pressure to create downforce worth a damn, then again, every little bit helps... I'd guess it's just to aid in making the car nominally slipperier and to help direct flow over the car itself
If that guy single-handedly tossed those wheel chains on that tire, I'm gonna call him Mister Sir!
:D
Geez, the 6 wheeler looks less "photoshopped" than the real thing. What is with the lenght of the nose? I wonder where they put the transponder. Sham or Helio could win by a "nose" and still not trip the timing if it's behind the front wheel. :shakehead

Most of the fans I still know from the days when Mark Donohue drove gave up being Penske fans long before he left for the IRL. I certainly did. What was painful was seeing people we were aquainted with, and that had integrity and talent, have to do Roger's bidding as things got progressively farther afield. Nothing he could do would surprise me, although without forums to inform me I'd never know about any of it, because I simply don't pay any attention.

What gives with these tub sides raised up to eyeball level anyway? Another couple inches and they'll have to drive with periscopes.

Exactly my thoughts, Bird. I've heard this "IRL cars are ugly" stuff for years, and in all honesty, they've never impressed me much one way or another - I mean, there have been plenty of CART cars over the past decade that didn't seem to be pageant contestants. But, they were what they were, and visual cues were minor.
But Jeezus, those things are awful...

What's with the swordfish nose??
I guess the only saving grace for the unfortunate souls that have to drive those things is that Mikey Andretti has hung up his helmet..I mean with a nose THAT long he could spear not just the car directly in front of him, but the car in front of that one too!!!
Wow! I am simply flabbergasted at how friggin' awful those things are...
With almost zero peripheral vision I guess the spotters will be REAL busy this year!!!
If you sat down and actually tried to design the most aesthetically offensive open-wheel car this is as close as you could get..but to actually then PRODUCE the damn things is inhumane....Can you imagine what an entire grid of those things will look like??? Ouch!!

That is seriously the ugliest race car ever made. Those fugly things make a nascar look great. oh my, oh my. What were they thinking. THey chop the air box, I'm guessing to "prevent" it from flying, even though they say they don't fly because of the design of the car, then Penske goes and does this.
Seriously, what happened to the rule about car designs can only change every few years to help contain costs. So now they have new engines again a break in the rules for the 2nd year after the Cosworth sham, and now Penske is allowed to "improve" his car in the middle of a rules thing.
THis is great, C^RT imploded because of the ever changing rules, and bad leadership, yet tg in all his wisdom thinks he can do it better.
Where is that puke icon, these things are ugly. Oh yea, and I showed it to my friend, she doesn't think that Formula 1 cars are great, even though she does appreciate Ferrari's car, but she thinks that is the ugliest thing ever. She likes GT and Saloon cars better, but not Nascar, I am teaching her right. She also likes watching F1 she just doesn't see the design as appealing but can relate to its technology, those 2 things are horrible. OH GOD, i can't even take it

Not to get too far off on a tangent with A10's, but my wife and I sat by the car and watched a live gun shoot by a squadron of A10's at their high desert gunnery range just South of I-10 on the New Mexico/Arizona border. Seeing the fire rate and what it did to the several 2 1/2 ton junk trucks a couple miles across the valley that represented the target was something that we won't ever forget.
