In less than 21 hours, I will compete in a national dance competition. Tomorrow I'll face a panel of 5 judges (and a nice big audience), and give it my best shot. And I'm not at all nervous. Really I'm not!
Coincidentally, my 6y.o. is in a dance competition tomorrow as well!!!
(but she is in Europe with her mom right now, so it's likely not the same one) :D
Anyway, best of luck!!
Good Luck! Does your costume have anything to do with checkered flags and cones?

Thanks so much for your support, folks! :D I am delighted to report that I won 2nd Runner-Up in my category (or as Mr. Anteater put it, "You got a podium!")! I owe a lot to my husband; he supported me all the way on the road to the competition. For example, we spent the last 2 hours of Valentine's Day in the aerobics studio at 24Hr Fitness while I performed a final rehearsal of my choreography for him. He is my hero!
No photos available yet; eventually pics wil be posted on the contest website (www.tonyaandatlantis.com). Interesting Champ Car-related item: if you click on the "Celebrity Photos" on that website, you can see a photo of contest promoter Atlantis with Mario Dominguez; she has been a LBGP Grid Girl for years, and can tell some very amusing stories as a result.
Also, the dance contest was held on the same stage as last year's Long Beach CART Town Hall Meeting.
Congrats!
Look forward to the pics!

I forgot to say--
No, mello, I did not have any checkered-flag or cone motifs on my costume! Although a couple months ago, there actually was a checkered-flag bellydance costume up for auction on eBay. I was sorely tempted, but the close-up photos revealed that it was poorly made, so I let it go.
And JT265, how did your daughter do at her dance competition?

Congrats AE'er.
:) :)
Like L_G said, congrats AE!
My girl scored 1st in her age group (5 & 6yo), and 3rd overall, so maybe there is a retirement package there! :D
Thanks for asking BTW!

Congrats to JT (and his lil one) and also to Anteater  :)
Thanks guys. I can honestly say that she doesn't take after me in any way shape or form, form being the operative word here. ;)
And Anteater, she is a fantastic dancer, but of course I'm biased. :D
