I've always been a little surprised that Intel (a much larger company) is seemingly uninterested in a sponsorship package...either in F1 or elsewhere for that matter.

Good news :)

Im proud to have an AMD processor in my home PC, now when do they start their champcar sponsorship program?? ;)

Intel probably feels that type of advertising will not help increase market share.
