I'm not all that great with Photoshop (actually, an old version of PSP) but I took the picture of the Target car from this thread (http://www.offcamber.net/forums/showthread.php?t=3379) and reworked the airbox into looking more like a roll-hoop. And then put them side-by-side.

The hoop is the same height as the airbox, but I left out the camera. Obviously, there would need to be some kind of rectangular opening just above the engine. Maybe even having the inlet trumpets peek out a little like the Plymouth-powered Lotus that Art Pollard drove at Dover '69?
BTW... if anyone looked real closely at the intro to the Homestead broadcast, they showed the computer-generated Indy car doing the donut twice, but they're not exactly the same... the second car has the airbox, but the first one has a rool hoop! I really prefer that look... it's much sleeker, especially from a side view as pictured here... and would hope that the IRL would consider going back to it for the next-gen chassis. (2005?)
