If Rahal is actually going to abandon and betray a sponsor in order to chase Hondabucks, it almost certainly means that Fernandez was doing the same thing. It's entirely possible that Fernandez lost Tecate because he would not commit to racing in his home country. This is even more certain if Rahal ends up running two cars in the IRL without Gigante money.
Now we have 2 drivers with no teams.

Excellent news. Someone to root for again.
Jourdain had a good thing going with Rahal last year. I hope he and Gigante land with a team that is competent.

But one is fully sponsored.
I have heard since last year that the Gigante deal was pretty low buck.
You want the number?
$2,000,000.00 with the burden falling on the associate sponsors for rights to shelves in their stores.
Who are the associate's ?

Who are the associate's ?

Listed as associates on the Rahal CART page, but not the Rahal IRL page:
AKAI USA
DURACELL
MILKA
OFFICE DEPOT MEXICO
TEN UNITED
VOIT
Someone else reported a story that valued the whole deal at 10 mil. No idea what the real number is.

In the Toronto Sun article it said Gigante was paying $10M.
Hey, just passing along the number I heard. Its the Internet
worth 10 million to whom? I think Gigantes does what Target did to all their associates, which is primo shelving space in the store. They pay Giagantes, who gives money to Rawhore (so its not their money to begin with) So they kick in 2 million, then hit the remainder up with the associates

That's what I was thinking also. 10mil from one sponsor is suspiciously high.

 :D he got my vote :)
Now we have 2 drivers with no teams. If Jourdain has full (or even close to full) funding, he won't be without a team for very long... wherever he ends up...
Go Michel!

Like I've said, Rahal leaving, while slightly unfortunate, will turn out to be a good thing. He didn't want to be in ChampCat, so go ahead. Since Michel/Gigante are staying, no real loss. If they play this right, maybe Michel could go to a PKVR, and let the other ride-buyer fund a team like Walker.

That makes sense. I was just quoting the number I read. There was another discussion in another thread saying $2M would maybe run a bare bones team.

I hope Michel does well this season
then calls up Rahal and then smacks
his bald head.
The good news is that the last fence-sitter is gone.
The bad news is that you know that the old cabal is salivating over our venues.
I sent an email, subject, "Gracias, Michel!", body said simply, "OWRS!"
