TSN article (http://www.tsn.ca/auto_racing/news_story.asp?id=77550)
This article indicates (with very little detail) that PC has a ride with Forsythe, and is not shoppong for one any more.

Sure hope this is true.....and if it is why didn't they have this in place a couple of weeks back for the season launch in Long Beach??? Wasn't the fact that Pat didn't have a ride "one of the main reasons" AF decided that the Earl and his one ring circus was the way to go???
Yes, that was one reason, but there were others. Here's 10,000 of his other reasons:

JoeBob, those pictures are screaming for Adrian's head to be photoshopped in the white areas! :)
Patrick is no longer the spear carrier, and should be in a top flight car. I really hope this matter gets resolved. As for what KK was thinking, who knows? I think the three amigos not getting the reality of them spending some of their own money reeked of the old established arrogance.
Its not like sponsors are seeking them out, that will take tons of work
Here's to the IRL company plane augering in a cornfield near you

This is just a WAG by me (wild ass guess) but Forsythe never usually says anything unless he has something to say.
Most will remember his rant on TV against the Canadian government after the M-O 1-2 finish.
Our Canadian government robbed GF of his sponsorship money. Now, what if the whole Carpentier situation was a threat to that same Canadian government and/or sponsors to get some money for the series.
Bernie Eccelstone threatened the same way and got more money from the government for the Montreal race.
Like I said, its a WAG, but it wouldnt' surprise me if thats what happened.

Good point Steve, the earl may want Toronto but I doubt they'd want Montreal and Vancouver....by the way, how much interest has Canada had in the 497.5 since 96?...my WAG...not near as much as before 96. The irl in TO

Forsythe racing website (http://www.forsythe-racing.com/)
Forsythe Championship Racing confirms the detail of its three car assault on the 2004 ChampCar World Series.
Defending World Champion, Canadian hero Paul Tracy will drive the # 1 ‘Indeck Forsythe Racing’ car, Canadian Patrick Carpentier the # 32 ‘Indeck Forsythe Racing’ car and new team member from Mexico, Rodolfo Lavin in the # 3 ‘Corona Forsythe Racing’ entry.
Before the Season’s first race at Long Beach California on April 18th, the Team and Drivers will undertake a busy testing schedule, visiting Sebring, Homestead and Fontana to shake down the race cars and to prepare for the start of the Season and the demanding street course at Long Beach California.
Paul Tracy is looking forward to getting back into his race car. “Its been a long winter. I’m fit and ready to go racing and determined to defend my Championship. ChampCar is the greatest Series and I look forward to racing in front of full grandstands at Long Beach on April 18th and to winning again in California.”
“Now that the final details of running three cars has been worked out by the Team I’m really looking forward to testing next week and the first race, and working for the Series and challenging for the Championship” says Patrick Carpentier.
Rodolfo Lavin had his seat fitting last week, “I’m so impressed with the race shop and the Team’s engineers and crew guys. This is a great opportunity for me to work with the best Team in the Series and with such experienced drivers, Champion Paul Tracy and Patrick Carpentier. I look forward to the first race in Long Beach and doing my best for the Team and my Sponsor Corona * and of course to racing at home in Mexico very soon.”

The two things AF kept repeating was that Tracy didn't have a sponsor and that Forsythe accepted sponsorship from Corona (shocking!).

To me, that implies that he lost the Tecate money. Perhaps Tecate transitioned from sponsoring a car to event sponsorship.
I still think it is just an excuse, as the Hondabucks likely would made the Corona offering pale in comparison. His decision to bolt was made weeks in advance, I think.
