I am writing a paper (3 pg, double spaced) for a management class that I am taking on a company that I feel was mis-managed. I am thinking about doing it on CART and how they mismanaged the corp especially after going public (Pimpski et al) and the major events that led to the demise of the public corp (that were in their control). Anyway, does anybody know of any sites or links to find info regarding the decisions/events that were more management based especially around the time they decided to go public and even around the time many of the owners started cashing out their shares.

I found this site (http://www.fsdb.net/cart/history-toc.htm) and it is a decent start, but does not have too much regarding what led up to going public and what transpired after that. Although, when discussing the engine specs and spacer-gate, I could probably fill the 3 pages with that alone.

Any help you guys can point me to, is greatly appreciated.

thanks

You could have a better time finding something on Kmart, Enron, Montgomery Ward or some other retailer that was covered in the daily biz journals. OW motorsports doesn't usually attract much quality, in-depth business coverage. If your grade matters, you might want to leave the CART thing be. There's simply too much missing (IRL/TG's side of the story) to really create a cause/effect paper.

But hey, try connecting the dots with the IndyCar and CART yearbooks. Some stories are in those. If you come up with a keeper, perhaps ESPN.com will run it with Robin Miller's byline!!! :D

Good luck!
