Holy Crap, it's tax time!

So how did you do? Between six months of unemployment, tax relief and fixing the marraige penalty we ended up with a pretty decent federal refund for a change. I'm not sure that unemployment is a tax strategy I want to make a habit of, though. :)

I'm getting a TON back, even though I upped my exemptions from 4 to 8 last year. Tax relief compounded with twin bundles of deductions makes the diff.

Refund in the bank... going towards Oz 2005 fund. :p Thank God for the other house that the wife has in her name! ;)

I files in early February and have long since spent the refund $$. I got a pair of tires for one vehicle and brakes on the other.

If I had two more children, it would completely wipe out my federal income tax liability.

Did my time with TurboTax on Saturday and the IRS will be withdrawing my contribution to the rest of you from the checking account sometime today.

Actually, the company we bought for my wife is doing quite well. It still hurts like hell though.

Got burned bad. Last year our computers at work did a total failure early in the year. Seems when they got restored they put me back in as claiming a couple dependents so they didn't take near enough taxes out. On top of that they didn't take taxes out for the 401K on Flywheels for something so they took more money out of federal withholdings and moved it. They are at least paying my penalties. Almost $2,000. that we had no clue we would owe until about a month ago. Trip to Mexico cancelled this year. Would have been there in less than a month. :flame:

Not bad, got the money back and have long since spent it. It helps to have education and child credits. :)

What does money and "tax" have to do with one another?

My kid uses "tax" to hang her drawings on the corkboard, but I pay nowhere near as much money as you guys speak of for her "tax".

That is all.

:D

Very nice return. My unemployment and K1's from my wife's business with large negative numbers (we purchased an old retail building, gutted it, and completely refurbished it)

Circulation was up, so I got tagged pretty hard on my paper route this year. On the otherhand, by overseas brothels are held by a dummy company incorporated in Surinam where there is no corporate tax.... ;)

Refund, best ever. Many deductions and buying some properties (write off) really really helped.
