Champcars will be in Portland as usual in June. Due to the lateness of the legal ruling in Indianapolis CCWS reached a compromise with the city and the promoter to ensure the race would be held.
Promoter Mike Nealy has be E-mailing news to those that have attended in the past, and re-order invoices were sent out back in March. He has folks calling everyone that purchased advance tickets in previous seasons to urge them to attend. Nice people on the phones, and a strong effort so far from Mike's organization.
On the downside, no sponsor has been found, and unless one is, CCWS will be taking quite a bath on the race, even if it's well attended.
Both newspapers have had articles recently about the race, but that news has been overshadowed by NASCAR's announcement that they want race in the Northwest and would like someone to build a nice superspeedway for them...
