Benz/Ilmor: feared by mosquitos everywhere

Two comprehensive failures for the Benz/Ilmor effort this weekend. Having it happen in front of the home crowd and corporate guests can't be much fun, yet I see no light at the end of that tunnel. Even were McLaren to field the best chassis in F1, which is unlikely in the near future, it would all be for naught. Benz/Ilmor seems determined to be have a run at the Peugot reliability record of yesteryear, and may manage to surpass it on the downside.

Probably due to block flex, so it will take an entire new engine from the casting patterns up. Gonna be a very long season for McLaren.

Absoluteley, for the kind of money they are spending, someone should be walking. Same with McLaren. All the hoopla over their super new facility, yet they are fighting it out with Toyota for 6th in the constructors points with exactly half the points Sauber currently has. This happens in racing, but not generally to teams with this kind of budget.

The Frying Finn seems resigned to his new role as pest controller. Didn't seem all that excited when exiting the car.
