No, not Crackforum. I came across a couple of Indy threads on the TiVo and Home Theater forums I visit. Obviously this is a good demo for Champcar fans, but I was surprised at just how much awareness there was of exactly what was going on in open wheel. There's even an FTG in there (anyone here know RSanson?).
Both threads started over the lack of Indy High Definition coverage. Not so surprisingly , the reason for it is that Tony puts the TV production money for Indy back in his own pocket and he doesn't have any Hi Def capability.

I tuned into the Race on the local ABC affiliates High Def Chanel and was shocked it wasn't in High Def.... I just assumed that it would be , it's the greatest spectacle in Racing afterall! :shakehead
Who needs high-definition TV? The Vision is crystal clear! ;)

It seems the ill-will is widespread; from Digital Home Canada (http://www.digitalhomecanada.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=14852)
HD or not, I won't be watching any IRL races. I completely despise that organization.
My sentiments exactly.
Nice work, tony :)

I check that AVS HDTV programming forum every once in a while for work. I still find it funny when work and leisure intersect...

This isn't from a forum, but from a non race fan at work today. He happened to be channel flipping and saw some of the Indy 500. Said he stopped because I had said that my daughter knew Buddy. He had also watched some of the race in the 1980's.
Here are some observations from a non raceing fan:
Who are these guys?
Is there a female in the race for publicity? She obviously cannot drive!
Come to think about it I saw a lot of cars that were without drivers.
This can;t be the series you talk about sometimes. (I talk about Champ Cars).
The stands seemed rather empty.
The announcers were pathetic.
The TV camera work was pathertic.
Why was this even on TV for so long? A total waste of time!
That about summed things up for me.
BTW...how nasty are the lines on an IRL car? They look like a kid's toy car. Shee*****IVO forum gets it
I also came across a thread on FARK the week before non-bump day. I was also surprised @ the awareness of the situation by the FARKers.
