cable modem and home network

Alright the caveman is trying to invent fire.

What I've got:

Wife's Compaq Presario XP home

My old Compaq Desk Pro XP pro

Motorola SURFboard cable modem

Comcast self instalation kit

Linksys Wireless - G Speed Booster Router

(2) Wireless - G PCI Adapters

What do I need, hell, what do I have?

I'm probably going to pay some snot nosed kid to hook all this together but I at least want to have everything I need before making that call.

Have you got a two way cable splitter and cable amp? You'll have to send 1/2 your cable signal to the modem and then split the remaining half among your TVs and VCRs. Use the amp on the TV half. Once the cards are installed in the computers, XP has a Wizard walkthrough that lets you easily set up the network. Your cable provider should have tech support that will help you. I have Charter and they have been great each time I called them.

I highly recomend Cam for all PC problems. He really does work for beers (and maybe a tour of some Lemming waterholes)!
