One other thing of note: K.E.G.S. is a wi-fi hot spot, so you can use your laptop and get race director if you have "ponied up" (don't look at me..I don't even OWN a laptop yet). :D

C'mon people...When an area boasts 40+ members and only 25% have even bothered to speak up on this deal, it doesn't look very good. :shakehead

Whether you can be there or not SoCal, it would be good to hear from you.

After a poke-in-the-ribs from Manic I'm here to respond, unfortunately it'll be a non-committal response. I'll certainly try, but since this weekend I'm running a 50k in Tahoe, that means nothing will get done at home and I'll have to catch up next weekend. It's about 30-45 mins from my house so I'll do my best. I'll know for sure later next week.

BTW, what is K.E.G.S.? And, is the hotspot free or fee?

CARNUT: KEG's IS DEFINITELY KID FRIENDLY. THEY HAVE TWO POOL TABLES AND SEVERAL VIDEO.PINBALL MACHINES.

K.E.G.S. is a family-friendly sports bar (I believe that those initials stand for the first names of the owner's kids). I don't know the answer to the wi-fi question, though. If I have time I will call and find out (unless someone else was planning to do so).

Having 27 rabid ChampCar fans in one place to view a race is a rare pleasure...although less so than being with a couple hundred friends at the track. :D

It was great to see some familiar faces, as well as some new blood today. I'll link to some of my photos as soon as I have the time to post them.

What a great crowd, good race even though Kermit didn't win - Good to see you all - Manic and Mrs. Mechanic, the Anteaters (who look younger each year and by next season will be veritable teenagers at this rate), Anaya, Winston Wolfe/Herbtea, P1, Indyfan, Racecat, Anaya, Dave99 (who has an interesting mouse from what I hear), many many others - we need to do this more often!

Haven't looked at the photos yet, but wanted to say "THANKS" for puting that together!! That was one of the best yet!!! Great to see you all again. Wish we would have had more time to meet and greet!
