Sorry, I've looked at the schedule and NCTS is on the 25th (Saturday) so CCWS would be presumably be the 26th. I thought NCTS was on Sunday. Same deal the earl gets with NCTS pairings, basically.

Cheap tickets boys and girls.
OWRS needs to start offering packages complete with truck tickets.
Sell the NCTS tics to some confused Cup fan to finace your trip!
One tba down, one to go.
I must confess I didnt think either of the TBAs would be filled.
Good Job :) Here's hoping it is a success.

I don't like it one bit. Road Atlanta or another road course would be much better. I've been attending the oval racing in Milwaukee for years. I was supportive of the Chicago race just because of the support. Oval racing belongs to nascar, and if this combination of different tracks...blah blah blah...that's old and boring. Design proper racing cars and proper horse power (a lot) and go road and street racing. I don't like the idea of doing business with people who are owning oval tracks today.

In a perfect world I would agree with you gofats, but imo you gotta do business with those who are willing at this point in time.

Now Mark C is "reporting" that the Champcars will run later in the same evening as the trucks.
Tough to get a setup right for a track covered with truck rubber and:
fenders
gunracks
chicken buckets
coolers
flagman's hats

I find it hard to believe that champ cars could run after NCTS. NCTS start is set for 7pm local time. Probably two to two and a half hours to run the race. Thirty minutes to an hour until they can grid the champ cars. Start time now anywhere between 9:30 to 10:30. Race over sometime well after midnight. Could be done, but I'm sure they'd prefer a more reasonable end time. Of course, anything goes in Vegas.
Vegas Rocks!!!
Goodness, together with the Trucks. Well hopefully enough of a crowd will remain.

Yep... then again, the IRL should try racing in parking lots... I mean, it's not like there's anyone who's going to park at their races
damn it, that's my birthday and I'll be stuck in St. Louis at a convention, damn it

I doubt this will happen.
I'm not big on attending ovals but if this happens we will be there.
If true could this signal a thaw in relations with Nascar?

Sportsnet.ca has learned that Champ Car will announce today that their season ending race will take place at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Nov. 14.
Sportsnet.ca -- Fans of Champ Car World Series racing will be able to walk from the track to the sportsbook for the final race of the season.
Sportsnet has learned that Champ Car will announce that their season ending race will take place at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Nov. 14.
Series co-owner Paul Gentilozzi and Canadian driver Paul Tracy, who calls Las Vegas home, will make the official announcement today at a press conference at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Although the current Champ Car schedule shows that the season ending race will take place in Mexico on the weekend of November 5-6-7, the schedule also has a TBA following that race. That TBA is Las Vegas.
Series officials had initially hoped to stage a street race in the city but time simply ran out to get that plan in order.
The addition of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, a 1.5 mile superspeedway, marks only the second oval race on the Champ Car schedule. Ryan Hunter-Reay won last months oval race in Milwaukee.
The race will also be a home race of sorts for all three Canadian drivers on the circuit as, in addition to Tracy, both Patrick Carpentier and Alex Tagliani also live in Las Vegas.
The series is in Toronto this weekend where Canadian driver Paul Tracy will attempt to defend his title.

Nice...
SEPT. 25 DOUBLEHEADER: Indy cars coming to speedway
Indy cars...
Oh well, at least they're having the opportunity to get it wrong. We could still be sitting here with 2 TBA's.
Won't champcars be scary fast at the vegas speedway? What's the difference between LV and Texas (other than the extra 200hp they had at Texas... seems to me they'd still wind 'em up pretty good)? Or will they be racing with the big wings ala Milwaukee? I'm sure they could put on a very earl-esque show (foot to the floor and turn left).

I caught that too. I imagine most in the Nascar crowd don't know or care about the difference.
Edit:
Texas is 24 degree banking and Las Vegas is only 12. I would think with everyone running the same engines dialing back the power if needed would be easy.

Las Vegas has half the banking that Texas does. In the past, quite a few ChampCar teams did some oval track testing there. Also, in 1996, the IRL ran their 1995 spec ChampCars in a race there with no problems.
The banking was the problem at Texas - Las Vegas is well suited to these cars.
$1 for a ticket? Heck yes I'll fly there.

Any idea on what wing package they'll use? I fear the thought of road course wings and full throttle racing all the way around. Strap on the oval wings and let the cars stretch their legs a little and make the drivers work rather than sit and keep foot mashed to floor and turn a little.
Oval wings, please.

I'm guessing the same as Germany.

Let's have a ChampCar vs. NasTruck 10 lap pre-race festivities demonstration. Or, put a NasTruck driver gomer in the two-seater. :D
Looks official: ChampWeb (http://www.champweb.net/headline.php?t=h&id=25832) piece by Eric Mauk.
Fans can purchase a special Champ Car ticket package for the two-day event through the Las Vegas Motor Speedway box office. The Champ Car Ticket Package sells for $61.50 and includes a reserved grandstand seat in the Earnhardt Terrace both nights as well as access to the Champ Car paddock area. The Champ Car Ticket Package must be requested directly from the LVMS box office at 1-702-644-4444 (in Nevada) or 1-800-644-4444 to receive the offer.
Must talk wife into Vegas trip. Anyone know a good babysitter in the Chicago 'burbs?
Who's got a good link for Air/Motel packages? Travelgal?
Last yeat I flew from Chicago to Vegas for the Fontana race. Why not, right?
Got a good deal from Southwest Vacations. Go to the Southwest Airlines web site and follow the link. Can make you own package for the number of days you want, the hotel you want and if you need a rental.

I'm hooking TravelGal and my favorite slot host up to try and get us a deal on some rooms.
I talked to the slot host last month and she told me that (depending upon the date), a block of rooms would not be a problem..If we get enough people, we could get an entire floor! :D
