Did the Miller vintage cars at Milwaukee on Sunday. Although it was $25 to get in, it was well worth it to get up close to such historic cars. The first Miller built by Miller. The six wheeled 1948 Pat Clancy Special. Listened in on an interview of the owner of a 1912 Cutting ( ran at Indy in 1912), explaining how he came about finding and restoring the car. The driver in 1912, he explained was a fellow named Bob Burman who held 36 speed records, more than more remembered drivers like Oldfield. Burman lost his life , along with his mechanic in an accident when he was 32. Unfortunately the restored car developed a fuel leak and I never saw it run. I especially enjoyed the roadsters; a 64 Foyt recreation, a 60 and 63 Watson, the 64 Federal Engineering Offy, a 61 Chenowth Chevy and the 59 Simoniz Special, also a couple of Sprinters with offy's; a Leader Card Bud Tingelstad and a 52 Kurtis. Wish they could have wound the offy's up a little bit more though...
