Sad news and a plea (please read)

Some of you here may remember Amanda B and her mom. I wanted to post this short message on their behalf:

For those of you who remember this family, I have some sad news to share. Amanda B's dad Phil was tragically killed in an accident last week. If he had been wearing his seatbelt, he would still be with us today!

***PLEASE WEAR YOUR SEATBELT!***

Thank you to everyone here for your kind words and thoughts. Amanda is being the very strong person she is through all of this. Anytime a person loses a close realative there are always questions. Many of her questions may never be answered. Yet, if the lives of others can be saved as a result of her dads death, then all will not be lost. It will help to bring some sense of purpose and meaning.

The support of friends is so important at a time like this and I greatly appreciate everyones support here. I will forward the link to this thread to Amanda in the near future.

Condolences to all involved. I just saw an article this week the CHP is cracking down on seatbelt offenders, over half of all traffic fatalities involve no seat belts. It just completely blows me away that people do not care about themselves or others and would do that. An Expedition rolled on the freeway in Pasadena two days ago and ejected three who were not wearing their belts, and some of them were older people.
