I built that car - well, a 1/24 version of it, anyway! :gomer:
Damned decals gave me fits, but it looked great in the end!

I would have used more bubble wrap and packing peanuts, especially if UPS is involved.
Cool! I actually built a similar crate when I sold my first Formula Vee to a guy on the East Coast.
It cost about $300 in materials to make, and I ran 2X4s through the frame in all directions so that the crate could be lifted upside down. I wonder if the guy ever got the car out!

I'll ask Dick about it next time I see him....

Well, I sold it to a different guy before Dick bought it. He is a dentist, I think, and (hopefully he's not reading this) he stuffed it into a wall at Lime Rock a few months later.

If it is who I think it is would his initials be RZ from Connecticut? He ran a BRD a few years ago and sold it and then got a Vector.

Yes, that's him! Looks like he's quite the Vee ho!

Last thing that I heard was that he sold his whole Vee kit (trailer, spares et al) and got out of Vees. Switched classes. I think that he is now a door slammer.

Are you forsaking the formula to go race two-wheeled suicycles? ;)
God damn I love the 787B - Greatest sportscar ever :)

I'd prefer to keep racing cars, but it's just too damned expensive. :(
I'll probably get a bike for some track days so that I can keep visiting the racetrack.

I also have a model of it that's waiting to be built.
RacinM3, what's the story behind it? Surely it's going to a museum?

Looks like the car was just at the Monterey Historics, perhaps it was shipped there in the crate:

You got it, Rich, that's just how they get it to and from different events.

Maybe it is just me, but I would be way too nervous about shipping a Le Mans-winning Mazda in a wooden box.
