View Full Version : That wacky Irish dude is back
Remember this guy?
linky (http://sports.espn.go.com/oly/summer04/trackandfield/news/story?id=1870585)
Vanderlei Lima was clinging to a shrinking lead when he was pushed to the curb by a man dressed in green beret, red kilt and knee-high green socks. Lima was able to get back into the race, but he lost several more seconds and eventually was overtaken by Baldini....
Police identified him as Cornelius Horan, an Irish citizen. In July 2003, Horan, in a costume similar to Sunday's, ran onto the track at the British Grand Prix in the middle of the race and stayed there for more than 20 seconds, forcing racers to swerve around him. He was carrying a sign that said, "read the Bible -- the Bible is always right."
What a moron!

It's really Robin Williams! :gomer:
Man, they could have used that guy at Spa to run out and clean up all the carbon fiber shards left on the track from all the wreckin'......
As much of a disgrace this guy is, Lima showed us the meaning of honor and sportsmanship when he entered the old Olympic stadium.

So now he helped one Brazilian win a race, and kept another one from winning!

This guy is becoming as big as the guy who used to show up at races in the rainbow clown wig with the John 3:14 sign.

Make that John 3:16....Rockin' Rollen Stewart...aka: The Rainbow Man. He always seemed rather harmless, but I guess not:

I dare him to run out on the field during the Super Bowl and try to tackle a linebacker...
He'd be squished like a bug
"Grand Prix Priest" - Maybe he could get a job for the "IRL Ministries"
He'd fit right in.... :gomer:

Wow, I had not heard any of this. Talk about going off into the deep end.
Time to put him on an ice floe and forget about him

My first question was why is this guy loose? He should have been rotting away in a damp musty "nervous hospital" somewhere in the English countryside!

Even if they let him go, why didn't he lose his passport before? cause no doubt he's lost it now. Nuttin like being on InterPol's radar......
In other news - "As TG reaches for any gimmick and attention he can get, the IRL hires this priest as the official benediction giver for all IRL races"

Agreed. And  to the IOC for awarding the special sportsmanship medal to him for that. A better example of the Olympic spirit would be difficult to find.

I can only hope that his next choice of a venue is the running of the bulls.
