Mario Andretti will give Paul Newman a unique passenger ride along the streets of Manhattan in a two-seater Champ Car as Herdez Competition team sponsors Gevril launch a new, limited edition watch.

It would be nice to think that this signals a return to a more active role for Mario, but I suspect it has more to do with Swiss Francs. :/ Cool event, anyway. Should generate some press.

This story suggest that the Herdez associate sponsor Gevril is one of the sponsors prepared to step up when Herdez bows out.

Reminds me of Newman's Trans-Am days, he said that he apporached Geritol as a potential sponsor. Geritol said no based on their marketing demographics, and I remember Paul laughing saying, "When you're too old for Geritol, you're really old."
