Look at that, 8 tenths of a second from first to worst!! Pack racing at its best.

The really sad thing is all the lemmings think this is hot stuff.
Come Sunday, the losers will be in their usual spots...but wait, they're all losers aren't they? :gomer:

I guess AJ fired the engineer he had for the last race.

AJ left Wardrop alone exactly one day at Chicago.
Quatro qualed faster than he ever had but fat boy couldn't leave his paws off the car, so during the race the kid headed for the tail.
No word on whether the check cleared or not.

Seen elsewhere:
Team owner and four-time Indianapolis 500 winner A.J. Foyt, 69, slipped getting on a bulldozer in Texas and dislocated his left shoulder.
Meanwhile, I've seen speculation (maybe at TF?) that Mo Nunn will not have an IRL team in '05 and instead expand his/Kathryn's IPS squad. Anyone know more about this (yes, I'm aware of Kathryn's plans to test some female drivers) and would this mean North American open wheel racing finally gets to bid sayonara to Tora?

Meanwhile, in another slightly related story.... A.J. (Au Jus) Foyt, was seen with his arm in a sling, using it as a placeholder for tenderloins and a napkin. :shakehead

SpeedNews just said Toyota is pressuring Fatassi to run 3 cars next year, and they will pay for it. Might be a home for Tora.

Dunno which would be worse...that it might be a home for Tora, or that it might be a home for Vitor (as also reported by SpeedNews)...

Cheap is in fatass heaven, funded wankers coming from all directions.
If he isn't careful he'll end up with a three car team.
Sharp (Delphi)
Tora (Toyota)
Quatro (TG)

Yeah, and at that rate too, TG will end up with a three team series.

Seems AJ missed the set-up yesterday, as he had his right arm in a sling. Not to discount a sling's usefulness as a texas-hold'em and wipe-em, I just figured AJ finally found a way to get out of signing autographs.
whoops, wrong button! :gomer:

and Scott Godyear actually said after the Accident that AJ IV is possibly one of the "BEST DRIVERS in the IRL ... he just lacks the equipment "!!
Of course that might have been a "pick up" line from Goodyear who definitely Lacks the Equipment ;)

For the love of God tell me you're kidding.
I watched exactly one lap of the race today. That's all it took for me to say, "Bored now", and went back to football.
Looks like they had the families and close friends of the teams in the stands, and little else.

Yes he said it .... Yes it was definitely boring... and the race had the most contrived ending .. a 1 lap momentum run to give Fernandez specious credibility as a Driver!
All in front of 3000 free ticket holders!

yeah there was a whole lot of bare metal there... I think it was worse than any other IRL race I've seen

You must not have seen many IRL races!
I hear they were running contests in the LA area to give away tickets. First place was 2 free tickets. Second place was 4 free tickets.

Is that how many got free tickets? ;)
The place actually has 103 sections odd numbered (1,3,5,7,9... 103) extending from the start finish line to turn one. 98 sections even numbered (98,96,94,92...2) from turn four to the start finish line.
Total Grandstand Seating 92,100 (Not including skyboxes or suites)
45 sections were open to fans for the Toyota Indy 400..
48 Rows with 18+ seats per row equates to 864+ seats per section.
45 sections x 864 = 38,880+ potential seats open.
If you take their seating capacity of 92,100 and divide it by the sections they have, which is 101. It would equal out to 911 seats per section..
45 sections x 911 = 40,995
The upper section above the center walkway was pretty well filled, the lower section was less dense.
People can argue amongst themselves what percentage they were full.
Oh.... and after A.J. IV hit the wall his grandpa said...
"Anthony... (grrr) I'm done with you"

So I was right 3000 ! ;)
and 2000 had red hats which means they swore they smoke and will die of lung cancer at some point, if the boredom of the IRL doesn't kill them first!

Wow, that is a sad looking crowd. Even free tickets can't get people there.
Good thing Tony saved Openwheel racing
The CART races I went too out there were better attended

Have skipped all the races since Texas in June.....now I'm reminded why when I tried to watch Fontana. Just an utterly useless and uninspiring waste of time....oh and what a coincidence, it's on the same day as the other type of race I have come to hate, stupid nascar restrictor plate nonsense. I can't believe I ever enjoyed those races also. Both got fast forwarded to the end. Time to go watch the truck race on tape, and later WRC and NHRA.
