View Full Version : Carpentier Underachiever deal falls through
Tonight on Windbag Robin Miller reported that the rumored Carpentier/Underachiever deal fell through. He said that the next most likely candidate is Moe Nunn who Toyota is looking to throw some money at for next year.
They're hoping that they can recruit talent to be more competitive with Honda next year. Of course the idea that talent really plays that much of a factor in the IRL shows how delusional they are. I guess they figure the Honda folks got prettier yen-whores.
Wonder why they're not looking to throw money at Cheever, Kelly or AJ?
Any new driver will do, he'll just have to test...
and an earl test is pretty easy, you don't even need to get onto the track. Testers are measured on how long they can hold their right foot down while pulling a wheel back and forth from left to center, left to center, without fatiguing. The test ends when a sledgehammer is swung directly into the drivers seatback. The first guy to jump out of the car and yell with enthusiasm, "The irl is the greatest racing on the planet!", wins the ride. :gomer:

You left large part of the test out. Phase One: A candidate must endure 3 hours of someone continuously droning, "still there, still there, still there..." If they can do that without being driven insane they move on the Phase Two which you accurately described above.
"Carpentier Underachiever deal falls through" Where's that dancing banana when you need it?
