No offense to the Philly CART fans, but Phiily folks didn't exactly support CART when they were only 30 minutes away. Let's see how they embrace the 'new' race.
Nazareth attendance peaked at a healthy 45k in '97. Picture. (http://www.netaxs.com/~gg1/race/naz/naz_97.jpg)
After that, it was CART (and IRL's) April scheduling that killed it with inevitable snow and rain problems. Lack of ISC promotion didn't help much either.
The best place for a Champ race in Philly would be a street race around the Stadium complex area in South Philly. The X games did very well there for 2 years, particularly the outdoor freestyle Moto-X (which I attended) which sorta gave a glimpse of what a motorsports event would look like in that area. It would be very successful there.

Philly doesnt seem like the market that CCWS woudl be targeting a "return" to.. Especially with ISC putting up the stink that they did over the Miami race (i.e. too close to Homestead).
Leave it to a stick and ball guy to screw up a metaphor from football when it is being applied to motorsports...:shakehead
