Thank you Playersfan.

Losing Greg really took away much of my enthusiasm for this sport. I'm glad he was able to realize his dream and enjoy his successes and acccomplishments. I am also glad he was able to enjoy his short career before greed and corruption became commonplace in CART.

Such a good guy. Damn! :(

I doubt that he will ever be forgotten. I remember watching that race with my husband (RIP). After Greg's accident he went out and was working on the garden. He had no desire to watch the rest of the race. He was a huge Greg fan. He knew that one of the best racers of the time was killed in that accident long before it was announced.

So to Greg Moore.......thanks for the memories. I hope my husband and you were able to connect in the world beyond and are having a great time talking racing. Actually I hope that you are on Tony B.'s team in the heavens, and my husband is the engineer.

#99, Gone but never forgotten.......

I found this link very interesting.....

Fontana '99 was one of the few races (Dresden '01 the other) that I wished I was not present for. :(

Had Greg lived, he would have been a CART champion and you wouldn't have had Helio as a two-time 500 winner. To be fair, Greg would have made both Helio and Sam Hornish look like a couple of moving chicanes.

But maybe the best thing to say at a time like this, is simply thank you.

Thank you Greg, for some wonderful racing memories.

Thank you, for making us proud to be Canadians every time you raced and every time you stood on that top step of the podium.

And Thank you, for being a perfect ambassador, in that understated, Canadian way.

Yes, that's it. The best thing to say at a time like this is:

Thank you, Greg Moore.
