Despite RHR's electrical fire and a few off-road excursions, the champ car guys managed to complete the Mexico City race without anyone dropping out of the event.
Here's a question for the champ car historians. Before today's race, had there ever been a champ car race where there were no retirements? I'd imagine that there were probably a few way back in the era when they did 50- or 100-mile races. But what about during the CART era?
Incidentally, there was one Formula One World Championship GP without any retirements. That was the 1961 Dutch GP, where not only did all 15 starters complete the full distance, but they all did it without a pit stop! They did come fairly close a couple times this year.
