CHILHOWIE, Va. (AP) - Fourteen cars of an 83-car Norfolk Southern train derailed near an industrial park, leaving the area smelling like a brewery Thursday.
About 20,000 gallons of beer leaked from three cars of the Roanoke-bound train, said railway spokesman Robin Chapman.
No one was injured when the cars skipped the tracks about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Chapman said.
Investigating officers said the leak did not contaminate any nearby water sources nor affect any highways.

WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?
Investigating officers said the leak did not contaminate any nearby water sources nor affect any highways.
I'm sure the local populace found the bravery to throw themselves, mouth first, in front of the contaminant and clean it up.

I'll reserve judgement on this... was it actually beer, or just fizzy yellow pi$$ water like Coorbudwiller? Let's not mourn until we know the facts. This may yet turn out to be a good thing.

Exactly.
I'm not concerned until I learn whether it was clydesdale piss or the real deal.
I hope oil companies can find a way to work this to their advantage and raise prices. Holidays are coming up. They need more cash!

You have only seen me "warm up" when it comes to the beer, my friend :D
I'm in agreement with Doc Hall. I'll withhold any tears until someone makes it known who the brewer was (but I'll cry a river if it was Old Dominion or Dogfish Head). ;)
