This is a 42 page thread with 400,000+ views, but it got pretty repetitive after page 9. Basically:

-17 y/o crashes his WRX into a house, claiming stuck throttle (recall related to this)
-later, it is determined that according to his story, he was going 80 mph at the time
-kid also has 2 other accidents in the car
-hilarity ensues

Now for the pics:

http://img15.exs.cx/img15/6172/BrandonAccident110104006.jpg

And the hilarious photoshop:

I hope this kid never drives again.

A 17 y/o with a WRX? How could that not end badly? :shakehead

What is funny is that pic you posted, and the one I did, were actually from his neighborhood. Some people did some research, and found pics that showed how full of it this kid was. He was going way too fast in a residential neighborhood, plain and simple.

I love how someone posted the thing about $1,000 reward for lying to cops, I sure hope someone decided to report the kid.

he ran through a house, i don't think he's gonna get out of anything with his lame story, the wannabe sherriffs in that thread are ridiculous though, "i'm off to photograph and feel important" that's what police and insurance agents are for

Whenever I'm riding in the mountains and see a WRX a few switchbacks up the hill coming towards me, I stay WAY to the right until the potential head-on disaster-on-wheels goes by.

It's too bad because this is a car I would own, and the 17 year olds are giving it a bad reputation.

Over here, the theft rates are so high (plus the Turbo) that they are one of the most expensive cars to insure... Thanks ram-raiders

I hope no one was injured (I didn't read the article). But that's what I was thinking too. A complete dumb@ss hits a house with a WRX and that's all the damage done to the car?!

Even using my father's old estimates, I'm no more than a 50% dumb@ss. So me and my Rex should live forever. :gomer:

I know we should hate ramraiding, but I almost fell out of my chair laughing the first time I saw one on a surveilance camera... :o  Sorry. Not funny, obviously... it was just the camera angle, I think... Empty store, innocent rack of potato chips by the window... quiet... WHAM!!!!! Next thing you know there's a car halfway through the window, carnage everywhere, and a group of thugs diving out, half to the register and half to the beer... I know, not funny... It was just the camera angle, I think...
Sorry...

My patience with the kiddie cars ran out back when I had a farm that had a 90 degree corner on the highway next to the North pasture. At least once a month, and always on Friday or Saturday night, some kid would miss the turn and take out my fence, sometimes letting the animals out. The first time or two I brought the tractor down and pulled them up the bank and onto the road, and of course they promised to fix the fence if I would do that. They didn't of course, and their deadbeat parents wouldn't make good either. After that I just took the dozer down, threw a chain on the cars and pulled them into one of the sheds and chained and locked the doors. No car until the fence was like new. Lots of cussing and threatening, and I turned the dogs on one of them that got in my face, but my fence always got fixed. Screw the little weasels and screw their brain dead parents too.

As for the ram raids, I'm thinking a few sections of 8" triple wall pipe sunk in concrete and filled with Embeco non-shinking grout, and the worst thing that would happen would be bent cars and sore idiots.

It's hard to believe a parent who is concerned about the safety of his/her child would allow the child to drive such a car (from what I understand, the WRX and STi have equal or better performance than all but the best muscle cars from back in the day). Although I'm generally not in favor of additional auto-related regulation, it is encouraging to see several states enacting limited/graduated-use licenses for young drivers.

My brother (a man wise beyond his years), recently bought a used, 2000 Metro hatchback as a beater/commuter, and to serve as the "go-to" vehicle for his soon-to-be-licensed son as good grades and behavior allow. And the good part is that the Metro could not "catch air" if it was driven over a cliff.

The kid who hit the house falls into that category. The kid who was smashed inbetween the semis was standing still in traffic when the second truck rear ended him. That guy was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, but with incredible luck, it wasn't his time.
