One thing that came to mind while reading all the possibilities for Cosworth, now that KK and GF own it, given the long history that Ford has with Cosworth and their support of Champcar, plus the fact that Chevy has a history with Cosworth, from their road cars to the current IRL engine, could we possibly see a renewal of the Ford/Chevy rivalry in Trans Am? Both could use Cosworth engines and given that TA is a part of Champ Car, it could be a an interesting marketing tool. Just a thought!

I posted an idea on the ChampCar board suggesting that Cosworth create separate, competing, engine teams to develop existing production engines. This could be more suited to TransAm.

Consider the advantages:

Cosworth controls the purse strings on both sides.

They control what comes into and goes out of the shop.

They can limit the employees hours and make them able to go home to their families.

They can create a competitive environment within their own organization, creating an environment where people have a place to shine (and be evaluated).

The manufacturers are spending less on engines, more on TV spots.

Cosworth can adapt the modifications for the tuner market.

No more public controversies between engine manufacturers.

There is a true, but controlled competition in engines that isn't dependant on the size of your warchest, but on your own team's ingenuity.

Why not cut costs and let independent engine builders sell pushrod V-8s like back in the days when Trans-Am had 40+ cars?
