From the 7G days, seems like I remember several of you also liked Pink Floyd. So, check this out: Hey, Teacher! We All Need Some Compensation (http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml;jsessionid=IR0Y4QOEXCPRGCRBAE0CF EY?type=entertainmentNews&storyID=6930225)

200 pounds. What's that, about $1,000 with today's exchange rate?

Money, it’s a crime.
Share it fairly but don’t take a slice of my pie.
Money, so they say
Is the root of all evil today.
But if you ask for a raise it’s no surprise that they’re
Giving none away.

The band is just fantastic, that is really what I think.

One of the all-time classics, of that there's no doubt. But from that era I'll take Queen, Roxy Music and Bowie. But as far as Space Rock, nobody beats Roger Waters & Co.

Well the Islington Green School does have album credits under "Backing Vocals" so I'd expect some (montetary) compensation is due them.

Maybe Pink Floyd was then-managed by Larry David and Jerry $einfeld. ;)

Roxy Music? :saywhat:

Love's not the only drug, eh? :gomer:Now, now Ed! I chose them out of pure personal preference from the 70s Glam era. Now I know calling Pink Floyd "glam" is a mighty stretch, but I don't know that I'd call them prog rock either. They (at least to me) seem to be in a genre all their own.

Roxy, like PF and the ones I mentioned helped influence a lot of bands later on.

But we are free to draw our own conclusions.

I'm with JT1 on that. Saw Bryan Ferry sans Roxy Music when I was about 13..... "The Electric Lounge Lizzard" was awesome live. Bride Stripped Bare! :p

Great parody BiF. Glad to see you haven't lost your touch.

Saw the same article in today's LA Times. They converted it to about $380 a person. Seems a paltry sum....
