Red Bull fires 2 senior execs over Driver Row

A heated argument over driver selection is apparently the main reason behind the double firing of Tony Purnell and David Pitchforth at Red Bull Racing.

Both former Jaguar Racing employees were surprisingly sacked last week with Christian Horner taking over the sporting director duties. Gunther Steiner is expected to brought on board as technical director, possibly as early as this week.

Apparently the old Jag team was pushing for Anthony Davidson or Alex Wurz instead of one of the Red Bull sponsored guys. The Wurz one was a big political mistake--Alex and Helmut Marko (Red Bull's racing honcho) had a bad break up in F3 years ago.
