i think the angle is that it wouldn't be much of a racing series with only two red cars on the track (and we'd still know which one would win)... ;)

No. The article says the Yen Menace only sided with the GPWC (Mercedes-Benz, Renault, BMW). The remaining members have shown no sign of backing down from Bernie. By themselves, T&H can't even run the IRL. How could they keep the GPWC going?

No. McLaren Mercedes, Renault and Williams BMW will race where Ferarri races. This is simply a matter of squeezing more money out of Bernie, as the article eluded to.
