Looks like the vision in Vision Racing is that of AJ4's attenuator. That must really suck. 4 was a no show in P2. Nice showing by Patwreck Carbender, too. Meanwhile, DPatrick showed her attenuator to only the slowest of the slow, in 16th after P2.

Dudes! Paul Dana securing the caboose spot!! Hemelgarn is back on track, finally!
So, at those speeds the last guy would only be lapped 14 times in a 2 hour race? Exciting!

10 mph off the pace?
Well, I gues you take what you can get.
I'd give Mr. Ed some oats in his nosebag tonight to encourage him for tomorrow. Either that, or a short walk behind the barn and a long trip to the Alpo cannery.
As for Dana, well that shows just how short the bus was when Buddy Lazier had a winning ride for the 500.

That's what the 14 competition yellows will be for. Well, maybe only 13, plus the one to clean up after Tomas Wreckter.

and from the looks of that crash, she got a little air time as well.
I didn't even realize it was her car that was on fire as she sat in it unconscious or semi-conscious. Someone said she was in there for about 2 minutes before anybody helped her.

At least he's not kidding himself:
A.J. Foyt IV, who finished ninth, his career best in 33 starts: "It was my best finish but I didn't really deserve ninth. We were so far back on that restart, by the time I caught up they were finished crashing."

Why are all the cars leaving those cool contrails of sparks and flame? Did they mandate special effects bolt-ons this year?

The spark trails are actually from all the titanium bits surgically inserted into the drivers during repairs from previous seasons accidents acting as skid plates.

I noticed that the IRL used The Big One (yes, in caps) in their 'storyline' during the race.
They better watch out, NASCAR already has it trademarked.
The day I see The Big One (in caps) on screen during a Champ Car race, is the day I quite being a Champ Car fan.

Surely he can't be stupid enough to try something goofy on the track?
