Some time and some place there is alway FUTILITY.

This time it's in Phoenix.

What a waste of a good oval.

The No. 91 Hemelgarn Racing Toyota-Dallara sustained rear-end damage and came to rest against the inside wall. Word on his condition and the cause of the crash was not immediately available.

Minutes after Dana’s crash, Ron Hemelgarn’s Infiniti entry crashed. Abott, the Infiniti Pro Series’ first female driver, hit the wall during the second session

Tough day for Hemelgarn.

Chin up, Ronnie. The weekend's just getting started :)

He just has to remember to hang back far enough that the wreckin' is done by the time he gets there.

Jeez it's so happening, again I forgot to record it and I was thinking of doing it...I'm so bummed again...Yeah right. It's so sad to think that ten years ago I was just on the edge of my seat with excitement waiting to watch Robby Gordon's win.

Less than 10,000 people there. Pathetic.

From what I saw (flipping from Sebring) only big hit was Rice messing up one of Rahole's cars. The rest were just understeering into the wall. I bet Dashley is pissed.

No Big One this week? How do the expect to get on the news?

I flipped during commercial breaks in the b-ball games. ABC didn't try very hard to hide the poor attendance. And the racing appeared to be a Wheldon and then a Dashley drive away, but I probably missed all of the whoah! three wide! action.

Sure looked like Buddetto Risso comprehensively took out three corners and a sidepod for Team Booby.

Sam the Sham did a fine job of forcing Dashley up into the grey and out of contention for the win with a small wall hit.

I'd say this explains it, from a poster at TF....

A change that will definately have an impact on the IRL attendance in Phoenix this year is the change in the season ticket package. For 2005, it is possible to buy season tickets for the two NASCAR Nextel Cup weekends only.

So, one of the first tracks that removes the scab of the irl off it's Nascar season ticket back and the earl suffers a big hit at the turnstyles.

Predictable.

Tony George and his misadvisors completely misjudged the Copper World deal. They thought the USAC short track fan would automatically embrace the IRL, but all the IRL accomplished was to screw up the short trackers' Big Show.

Dashly needn't worry about Sam. He can lap him in the next race and get his revenge.
