The end is near.

Maybe it's an ugly duckling story in which the jalopy stock car grows up into a beautiful formula racing machine. Yeah right!

Open-wheel has mismanaged itself to the point where when the average American thinks of racing, they think NASCAR. This is just another reflection of that.

I think Cup cars will morph into Grand Am cars within seven years. NASCAR had a kids cartoon a few years ago. It took place in the future and the cars looked like Grand Am cars. Stranger things have happened.
