Walker continues, "In addition to our encouraging test results, on Monday the 28th March we will announce more exciting news regarding the team and this years race program and a new look with some great sponsor partners joining forces with us. This and other developments in Champ Car further underscores that the series is coming back and is on the right track.

Quite a switch from the guy who was looking for money a few weeks back. Rumor has it that an Aussie has bought into or bought out the team. That would fit with the Aussie sporting colors on the car and transporter.

Derek has the "squeaky wheel" deal down to a science. Good for the series tho'.

The Aussie is Craig Gore, a wealthy developer who has major projects on the Gold Coast. He also has a jones for racing and runs a team -- Wright Patton Shakespeare Motorsports -- and has encouraged careers of a number of Australian drivers. He's also the man who got Alex Yoong into V8 Supercars after his sojourns in Europe and North America.

And Tag wil be looking for work next season as this is another prototype of the "National Team" concept CC will be pushing, a la the A1GP format. I'm not necessarily against the idea, I'm just hoping a team isn't prohibited from allowing at least 1 driver to be a "foreigner."

As a side note, and I posted this awhile back, Alex Yoong was, well, still Alex Yoong in V8s, from what little we see here in the US. During the Melbourne race, he was shown only twice, both times running out of talent. :gomer:

That said, someone willing to spend $ money to compete is a major addition for the series.
