Well, with having to actually articulate the right ankle and shift, brake, and steer at the same time, it's no wonder they are having trouble trying to figure out when to hit the nitrous bottle.

Shift.
Brake.

Turn.
Brake.

Easy. The "zero's" need to pony up for a seben/eleben sammich before they trade their ducats for a front row seat to watch this debacle.

Quattro didn't let us down today. He was a lap down after only 14 laps (ooh, the karma) yutzing around 5 seconds off the pace, and then he took Helium out of the race in a blaze of Foytility.

Quiz time: What's the difference between King Hiro and the IV/Carpenter duo?

Hiro drove faster and knew how to get lapped without causing a wreck.

Then Enge and Yasakawa get hung up behind the team charity car, they get Enge started again, and a safety worker had to jump and grab onto the fence to get out of the way. :shakehead

Unfortunately the main grandstand looks pretty full, so there must be a bunch of folks wearing red caps in St. Pete. :gomer:

Sam The Sham managed to live down to expectations today. He was running 9th (no great accomplishment) and never at the leader's pace before he got taken out by that Enge thing.

Dave, I missed that as I had to (believe it or not) be at work today, but I listened on the radio and heard that it was Sham's fault, not Enge.

Regardless, Sham made his charge to the rear nearly complete. He lost one position by trying to go OUTSIDE on the first turn (evidently he thought this was a right-turning oval), and he lost another position by the 10th lap. At times he was running either 14th, 15th or 16th, he didn't even set up his car (that was Helio and his crew) and he never (I only watched half the race) to my knowledge passed a single car.

And at Crack Forum, all the Gomers where pounding their chests saying "Where are all the Sam haters now?"

Well for one, not all of them read or smoke Crack. Second, careful junior, you might get what you wished for.

Quatro and Special Ed? No comment necessary but instead a Smilie.

Not being very smart, I need things explained to me. So someone explain why the .1RL has that silly rookie test to prove that any schmoe can floor it an steer, but has no test to prove that a driver can stay within, oh I dunno, 5 seconds of a competitve race pace and not spin every 3 laps.

Did ya hear AJ talking about the wreck to the announcer? Is that how he sounds all the time now, voice cracking like he's about to cry, or does he just get that way when he has to do a road or street race?

I noticed that too

BTW, some people actually think it was Helio's fault he crashed. From what I saw Quatro turned into him. Further proof that that no-talent wanker has no business being out there.

I mean he didn't take part in the off-season road testing, why the fluck should he have even been allowed to take part.

Ditto Special Ed. The guy sucks.

My only regret is that we never got the chance to Sarah compete today.

Regarding AJ's near tears, now that we know the story it's easily explained. See, according to my sources, AJ wasn't able to finish all of his sammich before IV wrecked and they had to pack up. AJ was expecting another 2 laps out of IV before he stuffed it into wall or another car. So all of the careful planning went down the drain.

Poor ol' AJ

I hate to defend AJ4...but Helio was already launching off the curb before hitting AJ. Kanaan drove like the normal ass he is. That little oompa should have been parked.

Also glad to see Scheckter can stuff it on a road course as well. At least he's consistant. All in all it looked like a CART race with different engine noise.

Isn't the visual of a Tony George owned car with "vision" on the sidepods, carrying a leased Toyota engine, driven by his ride-buying stepson, turned sideways on a temporary street course just the perfect commentary on the IRL. I think that picture with the headline "The vision takes another turn" says it all.

Even Helio didn't really blame 4 for it.

That said, why was he out there.
