I agree Groover, this season will be gigantic. At this point the only question seems to be whether anyone else has the pace to stay with Gibernau and Rossi. It's sweet that at a time when most auto racing lacks much excitement that MotoGP seems to get better every year without resorting to idiotic rules and castration of the equipment or tracks.

To put this in a historical perspective, the current era in MotoGP reminds me very much of the great Hailwood vs Agostini battles during the 60's, and I suspect that people will also still be talking about these current races 35yrs from now. The equipment is fantastic and the rider virtuosos.

I think it may be closer to the Schwantz v. Rainey battles of the early '90s. While Rossi and Gibernau used to get on well, it's reaching the point where they just hate each other on and off the track (much like Rossi and Biaggi a few years ago -- except Sete stands a better chance in head-to-head battles with Val). Not to mention that Sete can win some races and can be spectacular, but he can't keep it up enough to beat Rossi all the time -- just like Schwantz. Not to mention the Honda v. Yamaha battle again.

And for today's news, Barros on pole. Tamada fell and may have hurt his wrist, thus why he's so far back.
