Pop-Off Valve

I'm looking through the testing photos on the Champ Car site and notice none of the cars have a pop-off valve on them. Are they only used for races?

Pop-off valves are only used by Champ Car to regulate the boost pressure.

but it is not needed to regulate the boost pressue because teams can adjust the wastegates themselves. that pop-off valve just makes sure they dont go over the limit.

so when testing teams dont need to run it, they can cheat all they want but it wont help them come race day.

Don't know the answer to that, although I think I've heard your guess is correct.

On another note. I've never liked the "head-on" look of the Lola, but from the side ....... damn, that's a sweet looking race car.
