Champ Car's website says Oriol Servia will step into the Pacificare Lola. No word on who, if anybody, will replace Servia at Coyne.
does it matter?

If we end up with our own version of Foyt IV it might just matter alot.

Maybe Buddy can get another chance in the Coyne ride, it'll be like the early 90s all over again!

I too have heard that Oriol Servia will be replacing Bruno Junqueira for this weekends Milwaukee race. I find it HARD to believe that Champcar cannot locate a World Class driver to campaign the Newman-Haas Pacific Care Lola. While I have nothing but respect for Oriol, the people who run the series seem to believe that these Champcars are a special breed and NOBODY in the wide world of motorsports can handle the 700 HP turbo Cosworth engine...... Must we forget about Jos Verstrapen so quickly?
And while the Servia deal will ONLY be for Milwaukee, WHO then will be chosen to pilot the car for the remainder of the season? My choice is Katherine Legge, she has already proven that she can win in a major series(Toyota Atlantic) and who better to play off the "Danica 500" act than other female!!

How many oval races has he driven in?
At least this puts an end to the Buddy Lazier nonsense.

DPMBad idea, Legge would easily get embarrassed by this field and then she would be written off as a gimmick.
As stated in an earlier post, WHO will taking Servia's place over at Coyne for this weekends event? Lest we forget, Champcar MUST provide at least 18 cars for each race therefore Dale must now find an able pilot to drive the American Medical Response car.......

Legge a "gimmick", and what was Danica? Danica has NEVER even won a Dodge Pro or Atlantic race in her career. Had Kevin Kalkhoven put the young Patrick in a Champcar he would now be controlling the "next big thing", but he was thinking like YOU. In order to make it big you MUST go out on limb. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Katherine is the REAL DEAL.
Idea: Put Katherine Legge into Dale Coyne's ex-Servia Lola for Milwaukee.

Comparing the TA fields Danica raced against to the one Legge is racing against right now if like comparing the 95 and 96 Indy 500 fields.
Doesn't matter how much better Legge is compared to Danica. If she doesn't do as well as Danica did, she would be written off as a gimmick. In the current Champ Car field, Legge has no chance in hell.

No. Patrick was already under contract with Rahal before Kalkhoven showed up. The worst thing you can do to a young driver is throw them in over their head. Legge has shown some promise, but it's way too soon to put her in a Champ car, win or no win.

Katherine Legge has never even seen a one mile oval much less driven on one. Give her a chance to learn, she has only run a few TA races. "Responding" to Danica by pushing Katherine Legge too far, too fast is a really bad idea.
Aw geez, the latest this morning out of Sweden is saying N/H has contacted Kenny Brack. "Newman's Choice."...I guess this seat IS wide open.

It would be sweet if he comes back and shows Tracy and Forsythe the way.
That would be a neat trick as he was never able to do it in the past and the reason he is in the Lesser League running at the back of the pack now. :gomer:
Oreo sez junky likely out for season:
