Two BARs in the top five. Should be interesting tomorrow and Sunday, especially if it rains.

I think CDM's run was probably the most impressive of the day. He was super quick in the first 2 sectors (only .1th off of Rubens) but I'm not sure where he lost it in the 3rd sector. Anyway, he definitely turned some heads. Let's hope he can continue his form tomorrow.

I must say that the single car qualifying was incredibly boring. Let hope that Saturdays are at least more suspenseful.

So I guess BAR decided to stick with the new honda engines despite some known issues?

I kinda liked the single car/single lap thing. I haven't seen that many powerslides in F1 since traction control reared it's ugly head again. These guys had one chance to get it right, and you could see them pushing more than ever, especially Jaques.

Better than the 1 hour format? Not really... but I definitely didn't find it boring.

It wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be, and it was better than than last years Friday practice shows. It will be interesting to see how I feel about single car quals after 8 or 9 races. Will it get old, really fast, or will it still hold my interest?

Jacques showed, at least yesterday, than he can still drive if he puts his mind to it.

The new format seemed o.k. No one can claim they were held up this year!!

Cristiano seems to fit right in in that 'yota. He may be interesting to watch this year. Seems to me the 'yota has lots of hp.

It is intersting that the Williams barely make the top ten. I know this is just qualifying order but you have to wonder if something is up. Does the BMW engine have the power advantage it once had?

Ferrari, BAR, McLaren and TOYOTA all within 1 second.

I enjoyed the single-lap format. I liked that you could see each guy's hot lap, which is something you missed from time to time in the past. You could get a better comparison of how each driver was attacking the track. You could really see how hard each guy was driving.

As a TV viewer, I liked the new single lap format. It does give you an opportunity to see each guys run and style of driving.
