Canadian driver Michael Valiante was shaking down one of team owner Dale Coyne's cars Wednesday at PIR. Valiante, 25, is likely to take the seat occupied by Oriol Servia, who jumped to the Newman/Haas team before the June 4 race in Milwaukee. Valiante has been rideless since his Champ Car debut last year at Mexico City when he finished 14th for Walker Racing. "He's a quick guy, very talented for somebody who doesn't have a ride," Coyne said, noting he tested Valiante over the winter for the position that went to Brazilian Ricardo Sperafico.
