After Seven Years, Zanardi's Back on the Top

was an emotional day at the Mugello track in Italy as double Champ Car champion Alex Zanardi, who lost both legs in a 2001 CCWS crash, took his first race win since 1998 at Surfer’s Paradise, when “Pineapple” sealed his second Champ Car crown.

The 38-year-old drove a BMW 320i to victory at round four of the Italian Touring Car Championship. Zanardi is also a factory BMW driver in the FIA World Touring Car Championship.
